The Vincent Lecavalier saga continued Thursday, with rumors surfacing that the Ottawa Senators could be destination for the big pivot should the Philadelphia Flyers agree to eat some of his massive salary.

With the Senators trading away Jason Spezza on July 1, there's a gaping hole up the middle that Lecavalier could help fill. Unfortunately, the $6 million and $6.5 million owed to him over the next two seasons may be too rich for the cash-strapped Senators.
The Flyers' reported refusal to take on higher than $1 million per year of Lecavalier's contract looks to be a sticking point with in every possible deal involving the 34-year-old former first overall pick, with the Nashville Predators reportedly nixing a trade earlier this week.
