NHL announces rule changes for season; outlaws shootout spin-o-rama

Somewhere, Mason Raymond and the Calgary Flames are cringing.
The NHL announced a series of changes to the referee's handbook for the 2014-15 season Thursday and have made the shootout a little less fun in the process.
The spin-o-rama move, like the one posted below, has been outlawed during penalty shot and shootout attempts.
The NHL's tweaks also include a wider trapezoid, an emphasis on policing faceoffs and embellishment, and teams will now be required to switch ends prior to overtime.
Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo tweeted a suggestion for a slight tweak to the spin-o-rama ban:
Can we keep the spin-o-rama and ban the shootout instead @nhl ?
