Columbus Blue Jackets forward Boone Jenner underwent surgery Wednesday to repair his broken hand and is expected to be sidelined approximately five weeks, according to a release from the club.
Jenner suffered the injury after being hit by a puck in practice.
The injury compounds the pre-existing roster issues facing the club, including Ryan Johansen's contract situation and Nathan Horton's degenerative back injury.
