Cam Talbot's time in the New York spotlight will come to an end.

TSN's Darren Dreger reports that the netminder will be traded.

The New York Rangers are supposedly "mulling" over offers for the 27-year-old backstop who did a marvelous job filling in as the team's starter last season when Henrik Lundqvist went down with a neck injury.

Talbot earned a record of 21-9-4 with five shutouts and a goals-against average of 2.21.

It was reported earlier in June that the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and San Jose Sharks were front-runners for the goaltender.

Dreger reports that the Flames are making a serious push for Talbot.

TSN's Bob McKenzie writes that the Rangers have an offer of two second-round picks for Talbot, but will wait to see if they can get something better, while Dreger adds that a first-round pick is on the table.
