Auston Matthews has scored his first goal in pro hockey.
The 18-year-old and likely first overall pick in 2016 is playing out his draft year with the Zurich Lions of the Swiss League, and scored a second-period goal in his debut with the club.
In a fine display of his skills, Matthews broke into the offensive zone and played a little give-and-go with defenseman Chris Baltisberger.
Several NHL teams will no doubt be keeping a close eye on Matthews as he develops under head coach Marc Crawford this season.
