PHOTOS: Gordie Howe attends Red Wings-Blackhawks preseason game

The hockey world was treated to a welcome sight Wednesday evening.
Gordie Howe made an appearance at Joe Louis Arena before the Detroit Red Wings' preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Howe made a remarkable recovery after suffering a serious stroke last October.
The 87-year-old legend's son, Mark, said in May that it would be great to have his father attend a Red Wings game in the future, if he felt well enough.
