Andrei Vasilevskiy is on the road back to the NHL.
The Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender, who underwent offseason surgery to remove a blood clot near his collarbone, is expected to make an AHL start Wednesday in Toronto, according to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times.
General manager Steve Yzerman later officially announced a conditioning assignment with the Crunch.
The 21-year-old, considered one of hockey's top goalie prospects, appeared in 16 games for the Lightning last season, going 7-5-1 with a .918 save percentage.
