Canadiens' Gallagher fractures 2 fingers, out indefinitely
The Montreal Canadiens' 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders came at a costly price on Sunday.
Brendan Gallagher suffered two broken fingers in his left hand, which will require surgery on Monday. He is out indefinitely.
Gallagher sustained the injury after blocking a shot from Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk in the second period.
The 23-year-old is having a breakout campaign with nine goals and 10 assists in 22 games.
