Arizona Coyotes coach Dave Tippett earned his 500th career win behind an NHL bench in a 2-1 overtime triumph over the Calgary Flames on Friday night.
Tippett is just the 22nd coach in league history to hit the benchmark, but, as most of his kind do, he was quick to place credit elsewhere.
Dave Tippett on 500 wins: "Players win games, coaches don't win games. I've been real fortunate to work with some great players."

The win, achieved in the Coyotes' retro Kachina-style jerseys, also improved Arizona's record inside the Pacific Division to 7-1 - an achievement that likely offers Tippett that much more satisfaction.
