Kevin Durant was in awe after Stephen Curry rescued Team USA from the jaws of defeat in its semifinal showdown versus Serbia.

"That was a God-like performance," Durant told reporters following the Stars and Stripes' 95-91 comeback victory, including Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.

Curry's brilliant outside shooting kept the Americans within striking distance of Serbia, which led by as many as 17 points.

The U.S. trailed by 13 heading into the fourth quarter but outscored Serbia 32-15 in the final frame to keep its gold-medal hopes alive.

Curry shot 9-of-14 from deep, including a go-ahead triple with 2:24 remaining to put the Americans up for good. He tallied nine points and a steal over the final 10 minutes of action.

The Golden State Warriors guard finished with 36 points, just one shy of Carmelo Anthony's single-game Olympic record by a U.S. men's player.

"I'm really humbled to have been a part of this game," said Team USA head coach Steve Kerr. "It's one of the greatest basketball games I've ever been a part of. They were perfect. They played a perfect game. Our coaches were saying, Villanova-Georgetown, for all of our older readers and viewers out there.

"But they played the perfect game, and they forced us to reach the highest level of competition that we could find. And our guys were incredible in that fourth quarter, and they got it done."
