Pepperell wears Jack Nicklaus socks at Arnold Palmer Invitational
Many golfers taking part in the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week decided to wear shoes and outfits to honor "The King". Eddie Pepperell may have had a similar idea in mind, but his execution was way off.
Pepperell wore socks honoring Jack Nicklaus - Palmer's biggest rival during his playing career - during Friday's second round. Call it a slight mental lapse?

Despite an act that would've had the golf gods up in arms, Pepperell fired a 4-under 68, putting him in a tie for ninth place.
The Englishman acknowledged his faux pas after the round.
Heads up, before it breaks the internet....; I wore Jack Nicklaus ‘86 Stance socks today around Arnie’s place and shot a 68. I kinda feel bad...

Pepperell could redeem himself and honor Palmer on Saturday, but if he chooses not to, there's an offer on the table from another one of Arnie's rivals.
Haha, shhhh, but Eddie, perhaps if you wear mine tomorrow you will shoot 66...top secret 🤫😂
