Tale of the tape: Manning vs. Brady on the golf course

Given Tom Brady's ever-growing tally of Super Bowl wins, the debate between whether he or Peyton Manning is a better quarterback doesn't hold as much steam as it used to.

However, a new debate between the legendary athletes exists ahead of their appearance in Sunday's The Match II: Champions for Charity: Who is the better golfer?

Let's take a look at their respective golf resumes before Manning teams up with Tiger Woods to take on Brady and Phil Mickelson at the Medalist Golf Club in Florida this weekend to raise money for COVID-19 relief.

Peyton Manning

Handicap: 6.4
Courses: Augusta National, Cherry Hills, Castle Pines, The Honors Course, Sweetens Cove
Notable achievement: Shot a 77 at Augusta National

With a 6.4 handicap, Manning ranks slightly better than Brady. This makes sense, as he's had a few years without the "distraction" of professional football keeping him off the golf course. The former Colts and Broncos star is a member at a number of different golf courses, perhaps most notably the home of the Masters - Augusta National.

Manning isn't just interested in playing golf, as the 44-year-old recently grabbed an ownership stake in Sweetens Cove, a brilliant nine-hole course in Tennessee.

The five-time NFL MVP has made numerous appearances in the famous Pebble Beach Pro-Am, including his ninth-place finish earlier this year with partner Luke Donald. It was during a previous round at the legendary course that he showed off some deft short-game touch from the bunker.

While Manning certainly has a decent golfing resume, he doesn't exactly have the best vibes about Sunday's course. In his last trip to the Medalist with Woods, he was forced to ask for a ball to play the final hole after losing all of his during the round.

Tom Brady

Brady's 8.1 handicap ranks just behind his quarterback counterpart, but the new Tampa Bay Buccaneer admits his game is not in prime form.

"Somewhere between shit poor and pitiful," Brady said during a Bleacher Report video preview of the match. "Unfortunately, I'm focusing on football right now and I'm still working, and golf will come at the later date, but I can get a little bit streaky."

The six-time Super Bowl champ has been a member at some prestigious clubs, such as The Country Club in Massachusetts and Riviera in Los Angeles. He recently joined the prestigious Seminole in Florida, the course featured in last week's TaylorMade Driving Relief skins game.

The former New England Patriot already has some experience in winning golf tournaments, something Mickelson will surely hope to draw on during Sunday's match. Brady and Michael Jordan teamed up in 2006 to claim the top prize at a celebrity event.

Brady's experience at the Medalist appears to be very similar to Manning's, as his only trip to the course resulted in a whopping score of 106.
