PGA Tour lifts quarantine restrictions for traveling international players
After receiving the green light from the federal government, the PGA Tour has lifted the 14-day quarantine restriction previously imposed for international players traveling to the United States.
In an email to the players obtained by Brian Wacker of Golf Digest, the Tour cited its strict testing and screening policies combined with safety protocols as the reasoning for the move.
Previously, traveling international players were forced to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival to the United States before playing in any events. The timing of the decision is significant with next week's WGC event in Memphis attracting most of the world's top players, followed by the first major of the season with the PGA Championship in San Francisco.
While the move applies to players and caddies, significant others or additional personnel who would not be in the PGA Tour's bubble will not be exempt from the quarantine period.
