Zach Johnson withdraws from The Open after positive COVID test
Two-time major winner Zach Johnson has withdrawn from The Open after testing positive for COVID-19, according to ESPN's Bob Harig.
Johnson played at the John Deere Classic this past weekend, finishing T34.
The 45-year-old is the latest in a long list of high-profile players to withdraw from this week's major. Among the notables are Bubba Watson, Hideki Matsuyama, Matthew Wolff, Sungjae Im, Si Woo Kim, and Kevin Na.
Johnson won The Open in 2015 at the Old Course at St. Andrews and also took home a Green Jacket at the 2007 Masters. He's currently ranked 123rd in the world.
Louis De Jager (COVID-19) and Ryan Moore (back injury) have also withdrawn, per NBC's Will Gray. Adam Long, Sam Horsfield, and Dylan Frittelli have been added to the field as replacements.
