Phoenix Open: What to know for the TOUR's biggest party
After concluding the most picturesque week on the schedule at Pebble Beach, the PGA TOUR heads to Arizona for the biggest party in professional golf at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
The spectacle at TPC Scottsdale has grown rapidly in recent years with enormous crowds and an atmosphere more akin to an outdoor music festival than a professional golf tournament.
With a big-name field and dramatic closing stretch, the Phoenix Open is a perfect lead-in for Sunday's Super Bowl in Los Angeles.
When: Feb. 10-13
Where: Scottsdale, Arizona

Last year's result

Brooks Koepka claimed his second Phoenix Open title with a dramatic Sunday charge punctuated by an incredible pitch for eagle on the tricky par-4 17th.
The four-time major champion entered the day five shots behind Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele but scooted past the pair of fellow superstars with a sizzling 6-under-par 65. It was Koepka's first PGA TOUR win in almost two years as he battled back from various knee issues over that span.
Koepka grabbed the trophy, but Spieth certainly pulled in his share of headlines with an absurd 10-under 61 on Saturday that ignited the golf world. The three-time major winner had slipped from No. 1 to No. 92 in the Official World Golf Ranking heading to last February's event. Buoyed by the strong showing, Spieth would win in Texas shortly after and enters plays this week at No. 13.

The course

TPC Scottsdale is known worldwide thanks in large part to the scenes on the par-3 16th. Social media is filled with videos of the insane crowds that surround the short hole, often yelling loudly throughout the players' shots - something almost unheard of at a professional golf event.
The course is a 7,261-yard, par 71 that features plenty of risk/reward holes highlighted by Nos. 15, 16, and 17. While No. 16 gets the attention, the island green at the par-5 15th and the incredibly tricky short par-4 17th often play a bigger role in deciding the tournament.
