Fred Couples grabbed a piece of Masters history early Saturday morning as the 63-year-old became the oldest player ever to make the cut at Augusta National.
The 1992 champion stood in the 18th fairway at even par when play was suspended Friday afternoon, and he returned to complete the task in rainy conditions Saturday. Couples bogeyed the final hole but still sits comfortably inside the projected 2-over cut.
Bernhard Langer was also 63 when he set the record as the oldest player to make the cut, but Couples is just over three months older than his German counterpart.
It's also the 31st career cut made at Augusta for Couples, just six shy of Jack Nicklaus' record of 37.
