Rahm prevails in UK for 1st LIV Golf victory
Jon Rahm notched his first LIV Golf win since joining the tour in December, edging Tyrrell Hatton, Cam Smith, and Joaquin Niemann by a stroke at JCB Golf and Country Club in Rocester, England.
Hatton entered the final hole tied with Rahm but three-putted for bogey, handing the Spaniard the victory.
Rahm entered the day three shots off the lead at T4 but posted a 4-under 67 in the final round to secure the title.
"To get over the hump feels quite incredible," an emotional Rahm said after his round.
He had come close to winning on LIV before, finishing T3 or better on three previous occasions this season. Including the victory, he's racked up 10 top-10 finishes in 11 LIV tournaments, with the lone outlier coming when he withdrew in Houston due to injury.
Rahm and Hatton, teammates on Legion XIII with Scott Vincent and Caleb Surratt, won the team portion of the tournament. It's the fourth team title this season for Legion XIII.
