Tiger Woods has withdrawn from this week's Genesis Invitational, he announced Monday.

"I planned to tee it up this week, but I'm just not ready," he wrote in a statement. "I did my best to prepare, knowing it's what my mom would have wanted, but I'm still processing her loss.

"Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I hope to be at Torrey later in the week and appreciate the continued kindness since my mom's passing."

Woods' mother, Kultida, died Feb. 4.

The Genesis, which Woods hosts, was moved from its usual Riviera Country Club location to San Diego's Torrey Pines in January because of the Los Angeles wildfires. It was set to be his 2025 PGA TOUR season debut - his first event since undergoing back surgery in September of last year.

Woods hasn't played a PGA TOUR event since 2024 Open Championship in July. He played in just five tournaments last season, making his only cut at the Masters.
