EA Sports adding PWHL into NHL 25 in December update
EA Sports will add Professional Women's Hockey League teams to its NHL 25 video game in an update on Dec. 5, the company announced Wednesday.
"Our partnership with EA Sports opens new doors to elevate women's hockey across all levels," PWHL senior vice president of business operations Amy Scheer said. "Through this alliance, we'll develop in-game and out-of-game experiences that strengthen the bond between our teams, players, and fans, bringing the PWHL closer to the global hockey community."
The league's six teams - Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montreal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, and Toronto Sceptres - will be available in play now, online versus, shootout, and season modes.
Additionally, EA Sports is adding PWHL players, jerseys, and logos to Hockey Ultimate Team. Users can also use the league's jerseys in World of Chel.
"EA Sports continues to drive inclusivity and authenticity through its game, and in partnership with the PWHL, we will amplify the excitement of the women's game for all fans," EA Sports NHL executive producer Bill Dollar said.
Sceptres forward Sarah Nurse appeared on the cover of NHL 23 as a member of Team Canada alongside Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras.
