Sixty minutes wasn't enough: Canada and the United States are tied 1-1 after regulation and heading to overtime in Thursday's women's hockey gold-medal game at the Milan Cortina Olympics.
Kristin O'Neill opened the scoring for Canada in the second period, but Hilary Knight responded with 2:04 left in regulation after the United States pulled its goalie.
Knight's goal was her 15th in Olympic competition, establishing a new record for tallies by an American in women's hockey at the Winter Games. Thursday's contest is also Knight's final Olympics.
Canada is the reigning Olympic champion and has won five gold medals since women's hockey debuted at the Games in 1998. The United States has won the other two gold medals.
