Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout will stop his rehab after a setback in his recovery from meniscus surgery, the club announced Tuesday.

Angels general manager Perry Minasian added that the team is in a wait-and-see approach if the three-time AL MVP will return this season.

"We're going to shut down his rehab in general," Minasian said, according to Doug Padilla of The Associated Press. "He's going to get re-evaluated. He still doesn't feel good, so we'll see where that goes."

Trout exited his rehab game last week because of knee soreness. He planned to resume running after an MRI showed no new injury, but that didn't pan out.

The 32-year-old hasn't played since late April after undergoing knee surgery.
