Legendary New York Rangers broadcaster Sam Rosen is hanging up his headset soon.

The 77-year-old announced Tuesday that he'll retire following the 2024-25 season.

Rosen, who grew up in Brooklyn, New York, has served as the Rangers' primary TV play-by-play announcer since 1984. The Hockey Hall of Fame honored Rosen in 2016 with the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for his outstanding contributions as a broadcaster.

He was on the mic for the Rangers' Stanley Cup run in 1994. "It's a power-play goal" is among his signature calls anytime New York strikes with the man advantage.

"It's been a wonderful ride," Rosen said on a conference call with reporters. "I loved sports growing up. I played sports growing up and to be involved in sports the way I have been has been just the thrill of a lifetime."

Rosen is also widely known for calling NFL games on Fox since 1996.
