The Anaheim Ducks tallied a bizarre goal Friday night to extend their first-period lead over the Colorado Avalanche.

Anaheim's dump-in clearly hit the netting behind Alexandar Georgiev's goal, but the play wasn't blown dead. As the Avalanche slowed down play, defenseman Sam Girard gave possession back to the Ducks, who proceeded to score after entering the zone again.

The play became unable to be reviewed once the puck left the defensive zone.

The Avalanche battled back to a earn a 4-3 overtime win, their first victory of the season.
