Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams is facing a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Williams addressed the punishment Monday, saying he's "in good spirits."

Williams has caught 17 passes for 361 yards and three touchdowns in six games this season. His 21.2 yards per reception rank second in the NFL among eligible receivers, according to Football Reference. The 23-year-old had only one catch during Sunday's win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Detroit plays the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers in its next two games before a Week 10 matchup against the Houston Texans.

Williams has yet to play a full season since the Lions drafted him 12th overall in 2022. He appeared in just six contests as a rookie while recovering from a torn ACL that he sustained in his final game at Alabama. The speedster then faced a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's gambling policy in 2023.

Williams struggled with drops last year but has established himself as a premier big-play weapon. Seven of his nine NFL touchdowns covered at least 30 yards, including the playoffs.

The Lions boast a deep group of skill-position players and should be able to keep their offense in good shape despite Williams' absence. Amon-Ra St. Brown leads the team with 39 receptions, 401 yards, and four touchdown catches in 2024.
