Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced Friday that wide receiver Keon Coleman won't play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts due to a wrist injury, according to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg.

Coleman didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday.

McDermott said there's been conversation about placing Coleman on injured reserve - which would sideline the promising pass-catcher for at least four games - but the coach doesn't think it'll be necessary, according to The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia.

However, McDermott did say Coleman will possibly miss "multiple weeks."

The second-round rookie - Buffalo's first draft pick in 2024 - ranks second on the team with 417 receiving yards and is tied for first with three touchdown catches. Coleman has caught 22 passes, and his 19 yards per reception rank fourth in the NFL.

The Bills' depth chart still features wide receivers Khalil Shakir, Amari Cooper, and Mack Hollins, as well as tight end Dalton Kincaid and running back James Cook, among others.

Cooper's status is also up in the air, as the Bills' midseason acquisition missed last week's win over the Miami Dolphins with a wrist injury. Cooper has been a limited participant at practice this week.

Shakir leads Buffalo in catches (42) and receiving yards (471) in 2024.
