The Los Angeles Chargers are signing tight end Tyler Conklin to a one-year contract, his agent announced Friday.

The agreement holds a base value of $3 million and includes incentives that could push the total earnings as high as $4.5 million, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Conklin spent the last three seasons with the New York Jets and visited the Chargers earlier this week.

He caught a career-high four touchdowns in 2024 to go along with 51 catches and 449 yards. The 29-year-old set career highs with 61 receptions and 621 yards in 2023.

Conklin - a fifth-round pick in 2018 - played his first four NFL campaigns with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Chargers were trying to add a veteran tight end this offseason and recently hosted Evan Engram on a free-agent visit before he signed with the Denver Broncos. Will Dissly headlines the team's depth chart and was L.A.'s leading TE in 2024 with 50 catches.
