Houston Astros right-hander Luis Garcia suffered another setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

Garcia will be re-evaluated in four weeks after an MRI revealed inflammation in his right elbow, the Astros said Thursday, according to Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle.

The pitcher was originally shut down in mid-March because of elbow soreness he experienced in camp. The 28-year-old eventually sought a second opinion after initially meeting with team doctors.

Garcia hasn't pitched in the majors since May 2023 after his Tommy John surgery.

The 2021 AL Rookie of the Year runner-up owns a career 3.61 ERA with 1.16 WHIP and 364 strikeouts over 352 innings (63 starts). He helped the Astros win the 2022 World Series.
