Former Monmouth sharpshooter Abdi Bashir Jr. has committed to play for Kansas State next season, he announced on his Instagram Monday.

The 6-foot-7 guard exploded in his second campaign with the Hawks. Bashir led the CAA in scoring at 20.1 points per contest and hit the second-most threes in the nation (127). He was nominated to the All-CAA first team despite Monmouth finishing sixth in the Colonial.

Bashir was particularly impressive against high-major competition, scoring 38 against Rutgers, 28 versus Seton Hall, and 20 against Michigan State.

Abdi's twin brother, Abdul Bashir, was one of the top-ranked junior college players and recently committed to play for Bruce Pearl at Auburn.

Kansas State is coming off its worst season under head coach Jerome Tang, having gone 16-17 overall and 9-11 in conference play. Bashir is the Wildcats' first transfer commit of the offseason.
