Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe will play in Sunday's Game 1 against the Ottawa Senators after missing the final seven contests of the regular season with an upper-body injury, he confirmed Saturday.

"Pumped. Ready to rock," he told Postmedia's Terry Koshan.

However, Oliver Ekman-Larsson's status remains in question.

"We'll see how he is tomorrow," head coach Craig Berube said.

Ekman-Larsson missed the last four games of the regular season with an upper-body injury. He took his usual spot on the team's third pair with Simon Benoit during Saturday's practice. If he can't go, Philippe Myers will likely enter the lineup in his place.

McCabe was in his usual spot Saturday alongside Chris Tanev. The shutdown pair ranks ninth in expected goals against per 60 minutes among NHL defense pairings to play 500 five-on-five minutes together, per Evolving-Hockey.

McCabe and Ekman-Larsson finished first and third, respectively, in average ice time this season among Maple Leafs defensemen.
