The Edmonton Oilers scored goals 10 seconds apart to take a lead during the third period of Friday's pivotal Game 3 versus the Los Angeles Kings, an advantage the team wouldn't surrender.

First, Oilers forward Evander Kane jammed home a game-tying goal with under seven minutes left in regulation. The tally was automatically reviewed for a potential kicking motion. It was determined that Kane kicked the puck but then knocked it into the net with his stick, making it a legal goal.

Then, Kings head coach Jim Hiller called a timeout to look at the play for a longer period. He elected to challenge the play for goaltender interference, but the goal was again deemed legal.

Los Angeles was assessed a delay-of-game minor penalty for the failed challenge. Only 10 seconds into the ensuing man advantage, Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard tallied his second power-play goal of the game.

Edmonton went on to win 7-4 after a pair of empty-net goals.

"We got a good look at it, we took plenty of time, and we felt it was goalie interference. So, we challenged it," Hiller said postgame, per NHL.com's Gerry Moddejonge. "Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose on those, and tonight, we lost and it cost us big time. No other way around it."

Bouchard is the first rearguard in Edmonton's franchise history to net two power-play goals in a playoff contest, completely flipping Game 3 and the complexion of the entire series in a matter of moments.

The Oilers cut the Kings' series lead to 2-1 with the win after staring down a potential 3-0 hole just a few minutes earlier.
