Jerry Jones: 'Train has not left the station' on Cowboys adding WR

The Dallas Cowboys didn't use any of their nine selections in the 2025 NFL Draft on a wide receiver, but owner Jerry Jones hasn't ruled out adding one.

Jones said last week that the Cowboys were working on "two pretty substantive trades" that could occur before or after the draft, and he said Saturday that they'd considered a move for a wide receiver.

"It was definitely a big-time thought," Jones said, according to team reporter Tommy Yarrish. "The train has not left the station if improvement is needed from what we've got on campus."

Jones said that he viewed Jonathan Mingo as part of the Cowboys' draft haul after trading a pick for the receiver in November.

"I'm looking at the same sheet maybe you got in front of you that I have in front of me and it shows our No. 114 pick trade to Carolina for Jonathan Mingo," Jones noted, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

The Cowboys' depth chart is headlined by CeeDee Lamb. Behind him are Mingo and Jalen Tolbert, among others. Lamb recorded 1,194 receiving yards last season, though no other Dallas receiver eclipsed 610 yards.
