Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said Monday that no efforts were made to trade quarterback Will Levis during the draft despite the franchise selecting signal-caller Cam Ward with the first-overall pick, according to team reporter Jim Wyatt.

"I think there's going to be competition in every room and he elevates the competition in that room," Borgonzi said of Levis, according to Turron Davenport of ESPN. "That's what we're trying to do here as we get into training camp is to have the best 90-man roster (and) the best competition in every room and Will certainly provides that."

Borgonzi laid out his plan for how Ward and Levis, detailing how both quarterbacks will get "an equal amount of reps at the beginning" of training camp before a front-runner for the starting job emerges, per Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky.

"As we go through the offseason, get into training camp, I'm sure the reps will change at some point when people separate themselves," Borgonzi added.

The 33rd overall pick in 2023, Levis failed to impress in 2024 after showing a few initial flashes during his rookie campaign. The former second-round pick compiled a 2-10 record last year with 13 touchdowns to 12 interceptions as he struggled with adequate decision-making under center.

Ward joins the Titans after an electric final collegiate season at Miami where he threw for 39 touchdowns, 4,313 yards, and seven interceptions.
