The Jacksonville Jaguars released wide receiver Gabe Davis after just one season, the team announced Wednesday.

Davis signed a three-year, $39-million contract with the Jaguars last offseason. As a result of the release, Jacksonville will incur a $20.3-million dead cap charge, per Over The Cap.

The 26-year-old's tenure with the Jaguars ends with a disappointing total of 20 catches, 239 yards, and two touchdowns.

Davis was signed as a free agent by the previous Jaguars front office under Trent Baalke, who the club dismissed in January.

Jacksonville has moved on from Davis and wide receiver Christian Kirk this offseason, with the receiving room expected to be led by 2024 first-round pick Brian Thomas and 2025 second overall pick Travis Hunter.

A fourth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2020, Davis recorded 2,730 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns with the AFC East club. He produced his best year in 2022 when he caught 48 passes for 836 yards and seven scores.
