The Green Bay Packers have proposed a restructured contract for cornerback Jaire Alexander, a source told The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

The cornerback and his agent haven't agreed to restructuring yet, Schneidman adds. Alexander has two years left on a four-year, $84-million extension he signed in 2022.

The 28-year-old currently has the highest base salary on the Packers, per Over the Cap, at $16.15 million a season. Green Bay has $28.9-million in cap space available for 2025.

The Packers had placed Alexander on the trade block in April, and have been evaluating all options for the cornerback. However, Green Bay nabbed only one defensive back in the 2025 NFL Draft: corner Micah Robinson, who was selected in the seventh round. Alexander will still attend mandatory minicamp in June regardless of whether a resolution is made.

Alexander has been the team's go-to cornerback when healthy. He played seven games in the 2024 campaign because of a PCL injury that required surgery, tallying two interceptions and 16 combined tackles.

Green Bay drafted Alexander in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Alexander has been a two-time second-team All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler in his seven years with the club, posting 70 pass deflections and 12 interceptions.
