Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander entered his name in the annals of NBA history Sunday, earning the 2025 Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP after the Thunder's title-clinching victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 7.

Gilgeous-Alexander becomes just the fourth NBA player to win the scoring title, regular-season MVP, and Finals MVP in the same season, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, and Michael Jordan, who accomplished the feat four times.

The 26-year-old is also the first player since LeBron James in 2013 to win the regular-season and playoff MVP awards in the same campaign.

Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 29 points on 8-of-27 shooting to pair with a career playoff-high 12 assists and five rebounds for his second double-double of the series Sunday.

He averaged 30.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.8 steals across the Finals.

The Canadian guard is the first player with 25-plus points, 12-plus assists, and five-plus rebounds in Game 7 of the NBA Finals since Walt Frazier in 1970.
