Bucks president: Giannis relationship in 'good place'

Bucks president Peter Feigin addressed Giannis Antetokounmpo's future during Milwaukee's Summer League game Sunday, suggesting nothing has changed between the franchise and its superstar.

"It's where we've been for 10 years," Feigin said during the live broadcast. "Giannis loves Milwaukee, Milwaukee loves Giannis. We're at a good place. We feel great about it. It's business as usual."

Antetokounmpo's future has been a hot topic since the Bucks were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in five games in the first round of the playoffs this past season. The two-time MVP was reportedly open to the possibility of leaving the Bucks, who don't seem close to contending for a championship after recently parting ways with injured guard Damian Lillard. Antetokounmpo was apparently unhappy with Lillard's release.

Multiple teams were linked to Antetokounmpo once rumors about a possible Bucks exit surfaced, including the Houston Rockets and Toronto Raptors.

"We get a fun little joy in everybody else thinking they know what's going on and what the clickbait is, but for us, we're in a good spot," Feigin added. "Giannis is in good place, he's enjoying the summer. We're looking forward to next season."

Antetokounmpo has been an MVP contender and one of the NBA's best defenders for most of his career. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game this past season.

The 30-year-old led the Bucks to an NBA title in 2021, but Milwaukee has since won just one series in the postseason. The team has been eliminated in the first round in each of the past three campaigns.

Milwaukee's biggest acquisition so far this offseason has been former Pacers center Myles Turner.
