Duke head coach Jon Scheyer signed a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2030-31 season, vice president and director of athletics Nina King announced Thursday.

The 38-year-old Scheyer took over after the legendary Mike Krzyzewski retired in 2022. He had spent the previous eight seasons as an associate head coach and assistant under Krzyzewski.

Duke's reached the NCAA Tournament in each of Scheyer's three seasons in charge, including a Final Four run in 2025.

"Jon's remarkable impact over his first three seasons has positioned Duke basketball for sustained excellence, and we are proud to ensure his leadership well into the future," King said in a statement.

"He has delivered championships and national prominence, and he continues to lead a program built on character, connection, and a relentless pursuit of greatness."

Scheyer's 89 victories are tied with Brad Stevens and Brad Underwood for the most by a head coach through their first three seasons at the Division I level, according to ESPN Research.

Scheyer is excelling on the recruiting trail as well. The Blue Devils are bringing in a trio of McDonald's All-Americans this upcoming season, including No. 3 overall recruit Cameron Boozer.
