Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury at practice Thursday, head coach Liam Coen announced Friday.

Initial testing revealed that Hunter's ACL is intact, and he'll undergo additional testing to determine the extent of the injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hunter joined the Jaguars as the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after winning the Heisman Trophy at Colorado as college football's biggest two-way star. Jacksonville traded up from No. 5 to land him.

The 22-year-old has played 326 snaps on offense and 162 on defense in the NFL. He's caught a team-high 28 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown and registered 15 tackles and three pass breakups in seven games.

Hunter had a relatively slow start to his professional career but recently posted his best performance yet, recording eight receptions, 101 yards, and one touchdown versus the Los Angeles Rams in London on Oct. 19. He also had one pass breakup.

Hunter's injury is a big blow to a Jaguars team that's lost two in a row after starting the season 4-1. Coming off a bye, Jacksonville visits the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

The Jaguars are thin at wide receiver and will presumably increase Brian Thomas Jr.'s targets. Thomas, who was a Pro Bowler as a rookie last year, is averaging 52.1 receiving yards per game in 2025, down from 75.4 in '24. The club also rosters wideouts Parker Washington and Dyami Brown, among others.
