The NFL's competition committee is reportedly meeting in Indianapolis on Monday to try and simplify the league's catch rule, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, citing a person familiar with the talks.

Sources are "expecting some kind of change with added clarity" regarding the rule either before or during the owners' meetings in March, according to Schefter.

The catch rule was arguably the hottest point of contention throughout the 2017 NFL season, with commissioner Roger Goodell going so far as to voice his concern for the ambiguity of the rule back in January.
