VIDEO: Edin Dzeko gifted a penalty in Rome derby

In a match that is rarely short on controversy, the latest installment of the Derby della Capitale got exactly that.

Sunday's heated contest at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome was marred early by a questionable penalty call on Lazio centre-back Santiago Gentiletti, who was adjudged to have tackled Roma striker Edin Dzeko on the edge of the box.

A closer look shows that the tackle happened outside the area.

Summer signing Dzeko had little trouble converting from the spot, firing the spot kick to the left of Federico Marchetti to give the home side a 1-0 advantage 10 minutes in.
