Watford finally secured the services of Mario Suarez from Fiorentina on Saturday following a drawn-out pursuit which lasted much of the January transfer window.
The midfielder, who's represented Spain three times, signed a deal at Vicarage Road for four-and-a-half years for an undisclosed fee, despite earlier reports speculating his move would just be a loan spell.
Watford is believed to have paid around £4 million for Suarez, according to Marcus Christenson and Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian.
Suarez only moved to Florence last summer, but struggled to recreate the fine form he enjoyed over much of his time with La Liga's Atletico Madrid. After just four Serie A starts for the Viola, the 28-year-old has opted for a fresh start under Quique Sanchez Flores, whom he worked under in the Spanish capital.
Watford has already strengthened the centre of midfield with the signing of Nordin Amrabat from Malaga, and also adding Suarez represents a significant statement of intent from a side that's performed above expectations in the Premier League this season.
Suarez was unveiled shortly after Watford won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest to secure a spot in the FA Cup fifth round.
