Iowa's Clark will enter 2024 WNBA Draft

Iowa star Caitlin Clark will enter the 2024 WNBA Draft, she announced Thursday.

Clark is the all-time leading scorer in women's college basketball with 3,650 points. The Des Moines, Iowa, native only needs 18 points on Sunday against Ohio State to pass Pete Maravich's NCAA record of 3,667 points.

The 22-year-old led Iowa to its first NCAA Tournament final in 2023, a 102-85 loss to LSU.

The No. 6 Hawkeyes are 24-4 after beating Minnesota on Wednesday. Clark is averaging a career-high 32.2 points in her senior season.

She has a fifth year of eligibility left due to COVID-19.

The 6-foot senior does not have any brand deals with Iowa's NIL collective, according to The Athletic's Nicole Auerbach. All of Clark's sponsorship deals are separate from her university, Auerbach adds.

Clark brings more eyes to women's college basketball than any other player. The Hawkeyes star has participated in the most-watched women's college basketball game ever for six different networks.

The Indiana Fever have the first overall pick for the second straight season. South Carolina's Aliyah Boston was the No. 1 selection in the 2023 WNBA Draft.

The Fever seemed to tweet out their approval shortly after Clark's decision to go pro was made public.
