Iowa retired program legend and current Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark's No. 22 Sunday after the Hawkeyes recorded a stunning upset victory over No. 4 USC, 76-69.

Clark is the third player in the Iowa program's history to have her number retired.

Clark was also awarded her second consecutive Honda Cup trophy, which is awarded annually to the best female athlete across all sports in the NCAA.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Clark spent four seasons with the Hawkeyes, tallying an NCAA-record 3,951 points. She also accumulated the third-most assists in NCAA history with 1,144 helpers.

The two-time Naismith Player of the Year brought Iowa to back-to-back NCAA Tournament finals in 2023 and 2024. The Hawkeyes also won three Big Ten Tournaments and one Big Ten regular season title during Clark's time.

Clark has continued her success in the WNBA. After being drafted No. 1 overall in 2024 by the Indiana Fever, Clark proceeded to break the rookie scoring record (769 points) and was the near-unanimous Rookie of the Year.

Iowa's win over USC was only the second occasion an unranked squad has knocked off a top-five team this season. It's the first time the Hawkeyes have beaten a top-five team while being unranked since Feb. 8, 2001.

Iowa's Lucy Olsen scored a game-high 28 while USC star JuJu Watkins was held to 27 points on 22 shot attempts.

The Hawkeyes are 15-7 in their first season without Clark.
