Yerry Mina's agent says defender signed pre-agreement with Barcelona
Yerry Mina is finally being picked up by a European club. Or so his agent says.
In conversation with Caracol Radio, Mina's representative, Jair Mina, declared the Colombian centre-back signed a pre-agreement with Barcelona. However, a transfer to the Blaugrana isn't a sure thing, and it will be up to the 22-year-old defender to make a decision.
"He signed a pre-agreement with Barcelona and there's the possibility of the boy arriving at Barcelona," Jair said when asked about the interest from other clubs, according to Marca's Juan de la Concha. The agent also stated "certain teams from a great level" have inquired about the player's situation, and, since only a pre-agreement was signed, "everything depends on the decision of the player."
Asked about the price of the possible transfer, Jair replied: "The agreed price is €9 million, while for other clubs the transfer would be somewhat higher."
According to Mundo Deportivo's Roger Torello, Mina will sign for Barcelona in January 2018, and will therefore remain at Palmeiras SE through 2017 to help the Alviverde in the Copa Libertadores.
Mina, who made a name for himself at Independiente Santa Fe before joining Palmeiras, was a key part of the Alviverde's defensive unit in the 2016 Brasileirao and became a first-choice centre-back for Colombia. He is commanding in the air, possesses pace, and can lead the charge from the back.
