Report: Mavericks to hire Sparks star Toliver as assistant coach
Kristi Toliver has mastered the art of multitasking.
The Los Angeles Sparks guard is set to be named an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Toliver, who's in her first season back with the Sparks following a successful stint with the Washington Mystics, also previously worked as an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards.
A three-time WNBA All-Star and the 2012 Most Improved Player, Toliver won titles with the Sparks (2016) and Mystics (2019). She also enjoyed a successful stretch in Russia with Dynamo Moscow and UMMC Ekaterinburg during the WNBA's offseasons.
Toliver will work alongside former point guard Jason Kidd, who the Mavericks named as their head coach in June following Rick Carlisle's departure.
