Clark tops Maravich for NCAA Division I scoring mark
Caitlin Clark officially stands alone.
With a pair of technical free throws in the second quarter of Iowa's 93-83 win over Ohio State on Sunday, the superstar tied and surpassed Pete Maravich's long-standing NCAA Division I scoring mark of 3,667 points.
Clark finished the contest with 35 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.

The LSU icon had held the record since 1970, with very few players threatening to exceed his point total.

"I just feel really grateful to be here and to put on an Iowa jersey for four years," Clark said postgame, according to Fox.
Clark said she knew she broke the record after hearing the crowd's reaction to her free throw.
The 22-year-old also passed Lynette Woodard for most points by any major college women's player Thursday. Woodard scored 3,649 points for Kansas between 1977-81 in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW).
Clark became the all-time leader in NCAA Division I women's basketball history after dropping a career-high 49 points on Feb. 15 against Michigan, surpassing Kelsey Plum's record set at Washington in 2017.
She declared for the WNBA draft last Thursday and is widely expected to be the No. 1 pick, which the Indiana Fever hold.
