Reese reveals Bulls' Ball gave her $2K to cover $200 WNBA fine
Angel Reese received some financial assistance from Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball after getting fined by the WNBA during her rookie season.
The Sky star was ejected from Chicago's 88-75 loss to the New York Liberty on June 4 over a pair of technical fouls, though the second technical was later rescinded by the WNBA.
Ball attended the game and offered to pay Reese's fine, tweeting, "Keep ya money Angel I got you." Not only did Ball make good on his promise, he gave Reese more money than she needed, as she revealed on the latest episode of her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast.
"So you gave me $2,000. Do you know how much my fine actually was?" Reese asked Ball. "It was only $200."
Ball told Reese that he reached out to then-Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon to make sure she got the money.
"That was a terrible tech," Ball said. "I was actually at that game, my first WNBA game ever."
Reese averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game as a rookie. She also broke several WNBA records, including the single-season mark for rebounds.
