Dallas Wings guard Azzi Fudd became the first rookie to win the WNBA's 3-Point Contest on Friday evening at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
Fudd had a show-stopping performance in the final round, registering a score of 30 to beat Portland Fire forward Bridget Carleton in the 2026 edition of the All-Star competition.
Fudd's 30-point showing was tied for the second-most ever, trailing only Sabrina Ionescu's final-round score of 37 in 2023.

"I was shocked. That's crazy," Fudd told reporters of being the first rookie to win the 3-Point Contest. "To be the first is definitely an honor."
Fudd went a perfect 5-of-5 on her opening rack and didn't look back. She's also the first player in Wings history to capture the 3-Point Contest title.

Fudd, who has torn her right ACL multiple times, said rehabbing from previous injuries gave her an advantage in the All-Star Weekend event.
"Honestly, coming back from injuries, it was a lot of chair shooting. A lot of stationary shots. And so, you get really good at shooting off a rack ... and having your shot down to a T," Fudd said.
Fudd was awarded $40,000 for winning the 3-Point Contest, while Carleton and Howard went home with $30,000 and $15,000, respectively.
Fudd, the first overall pick in this year's draft, is averaging 13.2 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.7 steals across 26 appearances this season. The 5-foot-11 guard is shooting 38.7% from deep and 45.7% from the field overall.
