Former tight end Rob Gronkowski is officially joining WWE and will make his debut on March 20 during the "Friday Night SmackDown" in New Orleans, wrestler Mojo Rawley announced.
Reports of Gronkowski closing in on a deal with WWE surfaced last week, and his role at the company is still unclear.
The 30-year-old, who's currently a football analyst for Fox Sports, previously made an appearance at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017, helping Rawley win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
The three-time Super Bowl champion told reporters last August that pro wrestling is something he would be interested in pursuing in some capacity over the next few years.
