Alexis Mac Allister is taking charge during the business end of the season.
The in-form midfielder put Liverpool back in the lead against Sheffield United on Thursday with a blistering drive into the top corner. Mac Allister's emphatic effort was his side's second goal in a 3-1 victory that lifted the Reds back into first place in the Premier League table.

The match appeared to be following its expected course when Sheffield United - rooted to the bottom of the league and 10 points adrift of safety - gifted Liverpool the lead. Darwin Nunez trotted toward Ivo Grbic with a rather halfhearted press while the Sheffield United goalkeeper wound up for a long kick. Despite being under relatively little pressure, Grbic smashed his clearance against the Uruguayan striker and the ball bounced into the goal.
Sheffield United were also handed a favor for their goal. Gustavo Hamer met a deep cross from the right and his header flicked off Liverpool full-back Conor Bradley and into the net.
Still, few would've bet on the Blades pinching a point from Anfield, and the hosts soon delivered. Mac Allister eased nerves in the home crowd with his unstoppable wallop. He's now scored five goals and assisted five times over his last nine starts in all competitions.
Cody Gakpo nodded home an early cross from Luis Diaz in the 90th minute.
